Fashion is something that is constantly changing and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with. Now we are just ending our 3rd month of 2018, so we can see some of the leading trends in the fashion world at the moment.

Fashion trends of 2018
- Decade:1980
Designers have decided on focusing on the 1980s to gain insperation from. You should expect: nipped waists, strong shoulders and long legs. A lot of these designs are very unique and bold as are many trends this year.
- Trench coats
No matter how unique it looks, there are trench coats on every runway. This makes total sense because it can be worn with anything. From stripes to your traditional trench coats, you won’t miss them so you better hurry up and buy one yourself.
- Bold Stripes
Bold stripes have been welcomed into the fashion world and have become a staple piece for many outfits. The stripes have become bolder (of course) with vibrant colours, these items are eye catching and can become signature looks for some people. 4.Balloon-Sleeved Sweater
They have been around for along time but they continue to gain popularity and are normally big, bold and have an unique shape. They can be paired with almost everything; skinny jeans, skirts and leggings.
- Brash Logos
They are everywhere and can’t be missed in an outfit. The can be on everything from bags to underwear. Brands like Supreme and Paco Rabanne are really popular brands make sure to keep an eye on them.
- Purple
Even though it’s just a colour, purple has been staking its claim this year. It has been named Pantone’s colour of the year for 2018. You can add red with it to create a bold look.

One thing i wonder…why always they go back, 80s, 60s…in fashion, in music….It is not that i don’t like it, i do, but there are not designer and generally artists with original fresh ideas? After the 80s did you notice that everything is coming around, nothing new?what happened, all the creative people died? this upset me in a way because if you think, before 80s was not like now, fashion from 40s or things coming back, was everything fresh and new. I have a long time that I am thinking about this and i can’t find the answer. except this, i see very lively colors for 2018:) Thanks for sharing. I love trench coats:). Also i can’t believe strong shoulders are back 🙂 if you are not tall are not good for you .

You have really “nailed” it in a very simple but very attractive way.
I agree the 80’s are a decade that somehow we all go back to, interestingly enough we don’t see anything about the 90’s or the 2000’s nor the 70’s, not in fashion or in music – why? Except that the 70’s were really not too attractive, in my opinion.

This is a great review on fashion right now. What I thought of, as I went through your post, was that in the 80’s the fashion was highly influenced by the film Blade Runner. And now, the Blade Runner sequel has come out – and we see this flash back to the same fashion inclinations.
Just my thoughts, anyway.
