The Best Textbooks To Learn Korean

  1. My First 500 Korean Words

This book contains 500 Korean words that really extend your vocabulary. There are 10 words a day along with similar words for each word. Then there is a paragraph using the words with audio.

Many people say that they love the easy format of this book and how they are able to learn words in context. I love how the book is set up to make sure you remember the words. This book is essential because it helps you to build up your vocabulary so you can learn grammar quickly.

I believe that everyone starting Korean should have this book because it is so high quality. On top of 500 words, it gives you:

  • The basics of Korean language like honorifics
  • Basic grammar structures like tenses and conjugations of verbs
  • Gives explanations on harder sentence structures
  • You get a list of 10 words a day with similar words for each word so you basically can learn up to 35 words a day
  • Plus a sample story to practice reading the words in context, a match up translation activity, a crossword puzzle and extra space to practice writing the words
  • Also, a test every ten days to see if you remember the words and audio for everyday

If you do not buy this book, you are passing up a massive opportunity to learn so much Korean easily and in a fun way. It has 4.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon that’s how many people love it. This is my favorite too.

My First 500 Korean words are perfect for anyone who is just starting to learn Korean and someone who wants to further their knowledge and vocabulary. It is an absolute necessity! It is currently on sale for nearly half price so make sure you check it out now.

         2. Talk To Me In Korean Grammar Books

Talk to me in Korean is the perfect resource for anyone who is learning Korean, they literally are the best textbooks to learn Korean for beginners. There are 10 levels that explain different grammar rules. Each of these levels has a book that helps to explain each rule in detail with exercises. Level 1 introduces you to the language starting with Hello and Thank you. Then it starts on word order and how to use verbs in Korean. It is very well explained and helps to build a solid foundation in the language. For me, I would say these are the best books to help you learn Korean. Along with these books, there are other books such as My daily routine in Korean, The Korean Verb guides, and Real-life Korean conversations for Beginners.

I first found out about this website through my first search for learning Korean sources. Till this day, Talk to me in Korean is the only website I study from. What made me love it was how it made learning Korean so easy! The first book I ever purchased was My First 500 Korean words and this book is the only reason why I know so many Korean words.

Pros:

-Makes studying so easy

-Has lots of free content as well

-The books are about life and daily conversations so you learn relevant content

-All the books come with audio content so your listening and speaking skills automatically become better

-Within a week of studying, you will be able to write and speak basic Korean sentences

Cons:

-Some books are on the pricer side but they mostly are priced at $20 which is the normal price for Korean studying guides

Talk to me in Korean is a loved resource by most Korean learners and is probably the most used resource. You can find many reviews on YouTube and different websites. Personally, I think Talk to me in Korean is perfect to start off with using their free resources then you can buy their stuff afterward. Honestly, without Talk To Me In Korean, I would be able to speak Korean today and I probably would have given up earlier. You should need to purchase one of their products if you are serious about learning Korean because the results will come and you will make so much progress.

About This Site

My name is Makayla Welch and I am the author of Aesthetically Chic Beauty.

The 2 main reasons why my blog exists are: I love writing about topics I am passionate about and I want to help others. I have come to realise that many people come to the internet to solve all their problems, this made me think ‘Wow all of these articles are other people helping people out’.

I found this very interesting and looked into it further and then I discovered blogging. This made me want to write about my love for lifestyle, fashion and beauty.
