Stop damaging your nails
This is very hard if it is something like biting your nails or if you use your nails as tools. If you want your nails to grow, you need to make sure they can last longer than a week. This means that you need to stop doing things like: biting your nails, stop picking at chipped nail polish, using your nails as tools etc. After these things stop causing damage to your nails you can now start to think about how your going to grow your nails.
Moisture is key
Many people fail to acknowledge the fact that if your hands and nails are dry, they are more likely going to break off from being dry and brittle. You need to be moisturising your nails and hands on a daily basis. If that means getting yourself hand cream and carrying it around with you all day. Then so be it. It is always a good idea to moisture your hands when you wake up and before you go to bed. Along with moisturising your hands, make sure your cuticle are hydrated. They stop bacteria from getting into your nail and prevent infection.
Invest in vitamins
Your diet could be the reasons why your nails are growing slower. When your body get its nutrients it goes to all your important organs and to your cells before it goes to your hair and nails. This means that if your body is barely getting any nutrients, your nails will not get any. If you feel like this is why your nails are not growing. Try and gets some supplements(Like biotin).
Make sure you treat your nails properly
This only applies to people who gets their nails done regularly and sometimes skip out steps that are needed to keep their nails strong. If you paint your nails you always need a base coat to protect your nails and prevent damage. Make sure to remove acrylic or gel nails with care. As they can cause major damage to the nail if this is not done properly. Simple stuff like this can be game-changers for your nails.
The Recipe
You will need(Click to buy):
- Folic Acid (tablets or oil?)
- Vitamin E oil
- Garlic powder
- Top coat or Clear nail polish
What you’re going to do is add them into the top coat or nail polish(there are no specific measurements). Then shake the bottle and apply it to your nail everyday until it is your desired length.
If you do not want to get these ingredients. You can always rub coconut or olive oil(basically any natural oil) into your nails for about 5 minutes everyday. The results might take longer but it will still work.

Until next time
These are some great tips. I have some fairly strong nails but this time of year is hard on them. I am a gardener so they are getting beat up a bit right now. Chipping happens and end up having to cut some back. Some are long, some are short. I hate to cut them all off. I am going to use your tips to try to help the broken ones recover faster. Do you have any tips to help protect them from breakage or chipping?
I heard that you should always wear one layer of clear nail polish because it acts as an extra layer of protection for your nails. But that is all I really know….
I hope that this can help you.
